From Tricks and Puppies, to Problems and Just Getting Your Chair Back,
WE CAN HELP!

Private training with Dogism is as individualized and personal as its products.  You decide what you and your dog would like to learn and we plan your training schedule accordingly.  We will not make you commit to a minimum number of lessons or a predeterminded lesson plan.  We will come to you for an initial no cost consultation and develop a game plan that will be monitored and modified session to session.  We can work on one issue, or many.  We can work with your varying schedule.

More than one dog in the family?  Good for you!  Want to train with a friend? Excellent idea!  Our hourly rate is the same for one or two dogs.  There is a small additional fee for 3-5 dogs.  Getting together a small group of dog friends makes training more fun and less expensive.  Keep in mind that while you may be sharing expenses, you are also sharing the instructors attention.  A smaller group will receive more personalized training attention.

Are you part of a dog related social group?  We can do an hour demonstration or training session on tricks or a particular behavior.  Challenge us, what do you want to learn?  We will try our best to make it happen.

You will find our prices low relative to other private trainers.  This is not a “you get what you pay for” business.  You can spend a lot of money being told what to do and how to do it. That might not be what works for you and your dog.  We have great prices because this is our passion and our mission. We want to bring private or semi private training to everyone.  The group training classes held at many places do not always work with schedules or individual dogs.  Every dog deserves to get the training he needs and sometimes that requires a proper education for both dog and human.  Dogism is about doing what is best for the dog loving community and doing what we truly love best.

Trainers

Renee Russell is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT- KA) and an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator.  She has been training formally for 5 years, both privately and as a volunteer at a local dog training club.  She feels this is her greatest learning experience and challenge.

“Each new session brings in 10 new dogs and people, usually very different from the session before.  It is always a challenge to adapt material to meet the needs of these dog/owner teams both at a group and personalized level.  I love meeting new breeds and learning the backgrounds of the many rescued pets.  Each gives me an opportunity to do my own homework on a specific breeds needs or how to handle an issue a particular dog may be having.  There is very little black and white in dog training.  I have to be ready to handle whatever shade of grey walks through the door.”  -Renee

Jason Russell has been a volunteer trainer for the same local dog club for over 6 years and has a degree in psychology.  While the link between human and dog psychology is not always clear, the works of BF Skinner and Ivan Pavlov are the foundations of most dog training being taught today.  It is equally important to be able to understand and work appropriately with the human on the opposite end of the leash.  Good “dog” training is just as much about training the human!

 Services

Consultations - A consultation can be had for many reasons.  Maybe you are not sure if a private or group class is the best option for you.  Do you have a dog issue that you really just do not know how you might go about handling it?  We will have a phone chat or a meeting with you at no cost to try and help you determine your next best steps.  We find that often "problem" behavior is really not all that uncommon or that problematic.  The solution may be easier than you think.  There can also be cases where we at Dogism are just not the most qualified to handle your particular issue.  We will be honest when we are outside of our expertise or comfort zone and help you find the person you need.  Consultations will vary in time depending on the situation.

Private and Semi - private training.  Each session will be one hour long.  We will start with a brief discussion about our action plan and end with a quick review.  Often times hand outs or "homework" notes will be given as well to assist you in your practice.

AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluations.  Have a good dog already?  You can certify that by getting your dog an AKC Canine Good Citizen certification.  This is the first step in many Therapy Dog qualifications.  Click here for more information.

Demonstrations - We will come to your social gathering and offer our services as you see fit.  We can show a group how to teach their dog tricks, offer advice and assistance on a common behavior problem or help in just about any way you need.  Let us know what you are thinking and we will see what we can do.

Coming Soon - Paw Parties.  A furry twist on the in home product party.  For those of you that are way more excited about buying doggy products than plastic containers or costume jewelry. We have a fantastic selection of unique collars, leashes, handmade totes and pampering products for you and your pooch that we can bring to your home.  Invite a few friends and their furry friends for a little shopping and quality dog friendly time.
